New Deron Daum album Ondolindë is the story of The Silmarillion told in alternative rock
J.R.R. Tolkien lovers and indie pop fans alike will appreciate the elegance and authenticity of Ondolindë.
Daum wrote and recorded 13 tracks for the album between October ’23 and March ’24. He then enlisted guitarist Seth Paul and drummer Anna Mariko Seymour (Prismia) to record the songs as a live 3-piece band. The result is an organic and vibrant album full of amazing musicianship. Daum explains, “Everything I’ve done up to this point has been just me, with sampled drums and sparse guitar. I wanted this album to be authentic, with captivating melodies and less beeps and bloops.” Daum has managed to define his own sound, built on influences ranging from 70s Art Rock to modern Indie Pop bands like Dayglow, Circa Waves and The Sherlocks.
