The track starts sparsely but soon builds into a dense arrangement with an expert blend of keyboards, guitars and bass. Yet the vocals are the star of this production. Daum shows a range and power that we have not heard from him before. “I wrote ‘Stay’ on my iPhone in the middle of the night while I had COVID” says Daum. “I knew the vocals were very high, and I knew it would sound good if I could pull it off.” “Stay” is a RomCom in musical form. It is a journey of hope, love and loss. “The lyrics are based on an arc in the T.V. show ‘Gilmore Girls’ where Luke and his long lost girlfriend Rachel get back together for a while” explains Daum. The song mirrors the wistful feel of the show. Fans of bands featured in Gilmore Girls like XTC, Elvis Costello and Joy Division will appreciate “Stay”. And so will fans of newer artists such as Cautious Clay, Biig Piig and Hauskey.

The result is raw and rambunctious, with distorted bass and synths, big loud drums and disturbing lyrics. The song tells of an over-protective male with anger issues who accidentally shoots the love of his life. It is a natural fit for Halloween playlists and you can't help but bob your head to the chorus riff!

I based this song on one of the first songs I wrote when I was 15. I always loved how the chords stayed the same but the bass changed the progression. Although it is a sad song, it has a bouncy upbeat feel.

Login: came together pretty quickly, based on a cool acoustic guitar progression and a chorus I already had formed in my head.
